GUI Installation
When installing JSCAPE MFT SERVER using the GUI installer you will be prompted for which components to install. These components include:
JSCAPE MFT Server - The server application.
JSCAPE MFT Server Manager - The manager application.
When prompted for what components to install select ONLY the JSCAPE MFT Server Manager component. Next, you will be prompted for the IP address, port and password of the JSCAPE Secure FTP Server Service. Enter the values you used for the administrative service when you installed JSCAPE MFT Server on the remote machine you are wanting to manage.
Note
The IP address and port that the remote machine is listening on must be publicly accessible (at least to your LAN) and not blocked by any firewall software. Also, both machines MUST be running the same version of JSCAPE MFT Server to avoid conflicts.
Non-GUI Installation
Install the software according to instructions for your platform. When you get to the step where you run the ./config script enter the IP address, port and password of the remote server you wish to manage. DO NOT start the administrative service on the remote management machine. To begin managing the remote server launch JSCAPE MFT Server Manager according to instructions for your platform.
