Enabling load balancing |
Top Previous Next |
Two or more instances of MFT Server can be arranged in an active-active HA cluster in order to achieve load balancing. Load balancing reduces the risk in each node of the cluster from getting overloaded. It does this by distributing incoming traffic across all nodes in the cluster through some load balancing algorithm.
The load balancing process is carried out by a load balancer, which is stationed in front of the cluster and usually comes in the form of a hardware-based appliance, a DNS load balancer, or a software-based load balancer/reverse proxy like MFT Gateway.
