Event types

The Telnet class is the source for several telnet related events.  All events may be captured by registering your class as a listener by implementing the TelnetListener class or subclassing the TelnetAdapter class.  These events are described below.

 

Event

Description

TelnetConnectedEvent

The TelnetConnectedEvent is published by the Telnet instance once a connection to the telnet server has been established. See JavaDoc for details on this event.

TelnetDisconnectedEvent

The TelnetDisconnectedEvent is published by the Telnet instance once the connection to the telnet server has been released. See JavaDoc for details on this event.

TelnetDataReceivedEvent

The TelnetDataReceivedEvent is published by the Telnet instance for each byte of data received from the telnet server. See JavaDoc for details on this event.

DoOptionEvent

The DoOptionEvent is published by the Telnet instance during option negotiation for each option requested by the telnet server. You MUST respond to this event when fired.  See JavaDoc for details on this event

DontOptionEvent

The DontOptionEvent is published by the Telnet instance during option negotiation for each option refused by the telnet server. See JavaDoc for details on this event

WillOptionEvent

The WillOptionEvent is published by the Telnet instance during option negotiation for each option offered by the telnet server.  You MUST respond to this event when fired.  See JavaDoc for details on this event.

WontOptionEvent

The WontOptionEvent is published by the Telnet instance during option negotiation for each option refused by the telnet server. See JavaDoc for details on this event.

DoSubOptionEvent

The DoSubOptionEvent is published by the Telnet instance during option negotiation for each option that requires sub negotiation by the telnet client as requested from the telnet server. You MUST respond to this event when fired.  See JavaDoc for details on this event.
