Upgrading

Important Notice

If you are an existing licensed user wishing to upgrade please contact the Help Desk to obtain a valid license key for this version. Previously generated license keys may be incompatible with the current version and may result in application starting in evaluation mode.

Upgrade process - Graphical User Interface

1. Run the installer of the new version of JSCAPE MFT Synchronizer.

2. When asked whether you wish to update the previous installation, select 'Yes...' and then click Next.

3. Accept the License Agreement and click Next.

4. Optionally select the Start Menu folder where you want to create the program's shortcuts. Click Next.

5. Specify a backup directory and then click Next.

6. Click Finish to finalize the upgrade process.

Upgrade process - Manual

1. Stop the old JSCAPE MFT Synchronizer installation.

2. Move/Copy (DO NOT DELETE) the old installation directory to a new directory (e.g. JSCAPE_MFT_Synchronizer_old)

3. Install the new version of JSCAPE MFT Synchronizer. Just perform steps 1 and 2 of the installation process. DO NOT configure and initialize the database.

4. Copy the following files and directories (and their contents) from the old installation directory (e.g. JSCAPE_MFT_Synchronizer_old) to the new installation directory:

5. Navigate into the new installation directory and run this command:

./database -update -previous-version <previous synchronizer version (1.0 or 1.1)>

6. Start the new JSCAPE MFT Synchronizer
